Champions League Updates and Teams on Tour

Champions League Countdown - 4 days!

We are looking forward to an exciting weekend of champions league football this bank holiday weekend on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May. There over 450 players and 48 teams participating, and circa 150 volunteers who are making this happen.

Given there are limited parking spaces at Hyde Road, we encourage everyone participating to walk, cycle or use public transport. The Dalkey and Glenageary DART stations are both within walking distance of Hyde Park. If you drive, you are required to park your vehicle responsibly, in order to avoid causing potential traffic hazards and nuisance to local residents in the surrounding area.

This tournament is all about having fun, participating, and community spirt, let’s make it a fantastic weekend for the kids.

Registered players will be hearing from their coaches via whatsapp this week, and scheduling will follow.

Summer Camps

Registration for Summer Camps will be issued in May - stay tuned for an exciting summer of action at Hyde Park.

Dalkey United’s Unforgettable Easter Adventures in Italy

This Easter, a group of parents and players embarked on an extraordinary journey, sending three of our talented teams to the picturesque landscapes of northern Italy for a thrilling football tour. The trip was more than just a series of matches, it was a celebration of skill, camaraderie, and the spirit of our club. Our two U15 boys’ teams and our premier U16 girls’ team took on international competition, represented Dalkey with pride, and returned home with memories that will last a lifetime.

U15 Boys Conquer Lake Garda

Our U15 boys’ squads jetted off to the stunning shores of Lake Garda, where they competed in the prestigious Ballfreunde Tournament. Facing off against formidable teams from Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland, the boys showcased their talent and tenacity on the pitch. Off the field, the boys soaked in the beauty of Lake Garda, a lifetime of rain and wet, and a day at Gardaland (not the Irish garda-land) bonding over shared experiences and forging friendships.

U16 Girls Shine in Venice

Meanwhile, our U16 girls’ team, fresh from a stellar season in the DDSL Premier League, ventured to the Venice area to compete in the Cavallino Tournament, organized by the same dedicated team behind Ballfreunde. Our talented girls went toe-to-toe with top-tier teams from Germany, delivering performances that left their drenched fans in awe. Beyond the pitch, the girls explored Venice’s iconic canals and historic charm, creating memories that blended the thrill of competition with the magic of discovery. Their Grace, determination, and unity embodied the spirit of Dalkey United.

A Community Effort

None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of our tour organizers, Ali and Paul. Their commitment to making this trip a reality was heroic. Especially when it came to chasing down payments via Revolut with endless patience and good humor!

At Dalkey United, we believe that football is about more than just goals and trophies—it’s about investing in and nurturing a community that supports the growth of our youth. These international tours are a part of that mission, offering players and parents alike the chance to connect, grow, and create shared memories. From cheering on teammates to exploring new cultures, these experiences strengthen the bonds that make our club so special. The club is wholeheartedly committed to supporting teams interested in organizing future tours, as they are a rewarding and enriching part of our journey together.

Best regards,

Dalkey United Football Club
